Bonjour Finance

For co-parents

Kids' expenses across two homes, without keeping score by hand.

Glasses, hockey registration, a school trip: each parent adds what they pay, each share is calculated from your agreement, and the history is there to talk things through calmly.

Free, no ads. iPhone, Android and web.

A smiling father lies on the floor holding his phone while his daughter, in a holiday sweater, hugs him.

What creates friction, and how the app helps

  1. The problem

Nobody remembers who paid back the glasses.

    With Bonjour Finance :

Every extra cost in one place

Create a two-person group for the kids' expenses. Each parent adds what they pay, with the date, category and a note. The balance between you updates on its own.

  2. The problem

A 60/40 income-based agreement, recalculated for every expense.

    With Bonjour Finance :

    A default split, set once

The group admin sets the default split, for example 60/40. It pre-fills every new expense, and you can still adjust any single one. When the split changes, members are notified and expenses already entered stay as they were.

  3. The problem

The receipt is requested, but nowhere to be found.

    With Bonjour Finance :

The receipt photo stays with the expense

Snap the bill when you buy. The receipt stays attached to the expense, visible to the other parent.

  4. The problem

Each person comes to the conversation with their own numbers.

    With Bonjour Finance :

An exportable history, so you start from the same page

Export the group's expenses as CSV or PDF: dates, amounts, who paid and each person's share. A neutral document, handy for reviewing things together or with someone who supports you.

  5. The problem

Asking the other parent to pay you back is delicate.

    With Bonjour Finance :

Settle up without ten text messages

“Copy for Interac” copies the recipient's email and the exact amount, ready to paste in your bank app. The “Remind” button sends a neutral reminder, at most once every three days, for the amount actually owed.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a special group type for co-parenting?

No. You create a regular group, such as “Kids' expenses”, with both parents. The default split, receipts and exports cover the need.

Does the other parent need to install the app?

You can add them by email: they are included in expenses and balances right away, and get an invitation to activate their account whenever they want.

Does the app calculate child support?

No. Bonjour Finance records and splits expenses according to the split you choose. For anything involving an agreement or a court order, talk to a qualified professional.

Can we change the split later?

Yes. The group admin changes it in the group settings and members are notified. Expenses already entered keep their original split.

Is it free?

Yes, with no ads and no expense limit.

Ready to get your shared expenses in order?

Create an account in a minute. People can be added by email, even before they install the app.
