Where many families get stuck, and what the app does

  1. The problem

Hard to tell where the money went by the end of the month.

    With Bonjour Finance :

A monthly budget with category limits

Enter your income and planned expenses, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Set a limit for groceries or leisure: a progress bar shows where you stand and turns red when a category goes over.

  2. The problem

One parent pays for day camp, the other for groceries: who owes what?

    With Bonjour Finance :

Up-to-date balances between the adults at home

Create a Family group, add each expense in seconds, and the app works out who owes whom in real time. Repeating costs, like a subscription or daycare fees, can be entered once as recurring.

  3. The problem

Teaching kids to wait and to save.

    With Bonjour Finance :

Kids' accounts with points and savings goals

Create a linked account for each child: a simplified view, points for good habits, and colour themes they unlock with those points. Set a savings goal together: your child reports deposits, you confirm them, and the progress bar moves through milestones.

  4. The problem

Nobody has time to review the month.

    With Bonjour Finance :

    A monthly summary by email

At the start of each month, an email sums up your expenses and balances, in French and in English. Reports can also be exported as CSV or PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is the app really free for a family?

Yes. Groups, expenses, the budget, kids' accounts and exports are free, with no ads. The website has an optional donation button to support the project.

Is the budget shared between both parents?

The budget is personal: each adult keeps their own in their account. What is shared is a group's expenses and the balances they create.

How old does a child need to be to have an account?

The app does not set an age: the parent creates the child account from their profile and decides when the child is ready. Children see a simplified interface without the adult-only tools.

Are amounts in Canadian dollars?

Yes, the Canadian dollar is the default currency. An expense can also be entered in US dollars.

Is the app available in French?

Yes. Each person picks French or English and can switch at any time.

Ready to get your shared expenses in order?

Create an account in a minute. People can be added by email, even before they install the app.
